Founders Brent Russell and Christian Sticklen first met in 2006. Through a growing friendship and shared values, they built their reputations across energy, oil and gas, mining, infrastructure and utilities recruitment.
As their networks and experience grew, so did their frustration with an industry that was becoming increasingly transactional.

Brent and Christian believed recruitment should be about more than quick sales, treating candidates like products and clients like transactions. They wanted to create a business where people were listened to, understood and treated with care.
In 2012, they launched Resourceful Recruitment from an office no bigger than a store room, with a commitment to service quality, trusted relationships and better outcomes for clients and candidates.
They also wanted to create a mature, enjoyable and flexible workplace where people could take ownership of their work, develop as leaders and build their careers around a full life.
Resourceful has grown, but the focus remains the same: specialist expertise, honest communication and partnerships built for the long term.
