Our story.
Founders Brent Russell and Christian Sticklen first met in 2006. Through a growing friendship and shared values, they built their reputations across energy, oil and gas, mining, infrastructure and utilities recruitment.
As their experience grew, so did their frustration with an industry that could become too transactional: candidates treated like products, clients treated like transactions, quick sales valued over long relationships.
In 2012, they launched Resourceful Recruitment from an office no bigger than a store room. The idea was simple: know the market, care about the people and do the work properly.
They also wanted to build a workplace worth staying in, where people could take ownership of their work, enjoy the people around them and build careers around full lives.
The office got bigger. The idea didn't change.
Today, Resourceful works across six specialist industry markets through three sector teams, supported by permanent recruitment, contract recruitment, contractor payroll and senior-led executive search.
We are deeply focused on Australia and Papua New Guinea, with international search capability when a role demands it. Brent and Christian continue to lead the business day to day, staying close to clients, supporting the team and remaining personally involved in key senior and executive appointments.
