At the core of the model is a fair, accurate and rigorous methodology of assessing potential candidates against contemporary leadership attributes.<\/p>\n<p>BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES THAT COUNT<\/p>\n<p>Contemporary businesses strive to be seen as innovative, adaptable and dynamic. In this environment, a combination of relevant experience, business smarts and non-cognitive skills are critical for modern leaders.<\/p>\n<p>Before we embarked on building the framework, we wanted to understand what behavioural competencies truly are. A competency can be behaviour, knowledge, skill, ability or any other characteristic that contributes to the employees\u2019 success in performing their identified duties and areas of responsibility. Whilst technical &amp; professional, core and job family competencies are critical for leaders to succeed, for us, operating in the Executive Search space, we were primarily interested in leadership competencies.<\/p>\n<p>Having a well-designed and relevant competency framework allows an organisation to articulate what \u2018good\u2019 looks like. For an Executive Search firm or an internal HR team, it provides a means to assess existing capability as well as to improve the validity and accuracy of the recruitment process.<\/p>\n<p>Our behavioural competency framework has been established after significant consultation with the industries in which we work and by understanding what our clients are seeking in their Executive and Group Managers.
